OUR MISSION

At VietCaPhe, our goal is to bring the delightful experience of Specialty Vietnamese Robusta Coffee into every Australian household. Our products cater for different brewing preferences and lifestyles. We invite you to create your own daily dose of VietCaPhe, where each comforting sip embodies a coffee experience like no other.

WHAT MAKES OUR BRAND SPECIAL ?

Sourcing our Beans

Our Specialty Robusta is sourced from multiple regions in Dak Lak Province, most notably from Cu M'Gar, offering rich volcanic soil and optimal rainfall and elevation.

Freshly Roasted in Sydney

We roast to order so your coffee isn't sitting on a shelf losing its flavour. By roasting in small batches right before shipping, we make sure you get that peak freshness and aroma every single time you open a bag.

Specialty Grade Robusta

This is not mass-market Vietnamese Robusta. Our selectively harvested beans undergo meticulous honey processing, utilising controlled mucilage fermentation to enhance the final cup profile. This method cultivates inherent depth, syrupy smoothness, and a natural, rich cocoa complexity.

MEET OUR FOUNDERS

We're the first here in Australia dedicated exclusively to Specialty Robusta, and our mission is simple: show you what Vietnamese beans can really do. For too long, everyone just accepted basic coffee. We went looking for something better, something extraordinary. What we found is a bold, complex, genuinely great coffee experience that pushes back against the usual stuff you find on shelves. It’s more than just a drink. It's a completely different kind of kick. You won’t find anything else like it

Our Story

WHAT IS VIETNAMESE COFFEE?

Vietnamese coffee, known for its strong dark chocolate and nutty flavours, gentle bitterness and higher caffeine content, is made from Robusta beans. It’s traditionally brewed using a Vietnamese filter (Phin) resulting in a rich, aromatic coffee.

Vietnamese coffee can be brewed in several ways, from traditional methods like Phin and western brewing methods such as Espresso. Enjoy your coffee the traditional way with sweetened condensed milk, or however you like - we guarantee a great taste! More recipes - here.

Coffee is a significant part of Vietnamese culture. Coffee shops are common gathering places, and drinking coffee is seen as a chance for ‘ba tam’, or “gossip”.

Coffee was introduced to Vietnam by a French Catholic priest in 1857. The industry expanded in the Central Highlands and boomed following the ‘Doi Moi’ economic reforms. Today, Vietnam is the world’s second-largest coffee exporter.

TRY OUR PHIN FILTER FOR A PERFECT VIETNAMESE BREW... OR DO IT YOUR WAY

Ditch the machine and grab a Phin filter. Since there's no paper, the oils stay in, making it way bolder and richer. It's a total game changer.

Coffee isn’t that complicated. There’s no "correct" way to brew. If you like how it tastes, you’re doing it right. Whether you’re using a fancy setup or just keeping it simple, as long as you enjoy the cup, that’s all that matters.

Cheers!

Our Aussie Roaster

  • ECRE

ECRE is a collaborative co-roasting hub and specialty coffee facility based in Sydney. More than just a roastery, they provide independent roasters with access to industrial equipment and education, offering professional roasting workshops and "Roaster Maker" courses. They actively fund sustainable coffee research through their partnership with World Coffee Research.

Why we teamed up with ECRE

We teamed up with ECRE because they actually get Vietnamese Robusta. They’re one of the few roasters around who respect the heritage enough to know how to handle it. Their roasting hits that sweet spot of a heavy body and smooth finish without the burnt taste, so you get a consistent cup that actually tastes like the coffee you’d find in a busy Saigon café.
